Empowering Women: Menopause Matters Awareness Session by JCI and AP CWE at AU
AP Chambers Women Entrepreneurs, in collaboration with Andhra University and JCI Vizag Steel City, organized a health talk on "Menopause Matters" to celebrate International Women's Day. The event was held on 7th March 2023, Tuesday, at the Subba Rao Auditorium in AU College of Pharmaceutical Sciences' new building.

The health talk was aimed at creating awareness about menopause and its impact on women's health. The event was well attended, and participants benefited greatly from the informative session. The talk covered a range of topics, including menopause symptoms and treatment options, the importance of nutrition and yoga in managing menopause, and the impact of menopause on mental health.
Menopause is a natural biological process that marks the end of a woman's reproductive years. While it's a normal part of life, menopause can be challenging for many women, both physically and emotionally.

The event was graced by esteemed guests, including the Chief Guest, Professor K. Samatha, Rector of Andhra University, who addressed the gathering of 150 participants from Andhra University and Visakhapatnam city. The Guest of Honor, Professor Y. Rajendra Prasad, Principal of AU, CoPS, and Professor T. Shoba Shree, Principal of AU, IASE, were also present at the event.

The speakers for the event were Dr. Vidya Konduri, a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist, who spoke about pre and post-menopausal symptoms and problems and their treatment. She provided valuable insights into how women can manage the symptoms of menopause and the various treatment options available to them.

The second speaker, T. Lavanya, a Clinical Nutritionist, discussed how women can manage pre and post-menopause through their diet. She provided valuable tips on the types of food that women should include in their diets to help manage menopausal symptoms effectively.
It was heartening to see such esteemed experts come together to share their knowledge and insights on menopause.
