Together Alone

The episode begins with Steven having a dream of the past of his mother's memories in which he as Pink Diamond and a Pink Pearl almost identical to White Diamond's, except for having pink hair and eyes, no cracked eye and a playful personality, are playing together inside his mother's room in her palace. Steven is standing on a bubble when he's juggling bubbles with various random objects inside them, he leaps, lands, and kiss as Pink Pearl applause. When they hear Yellow Diamond opens the door, they went back to their position as the three mirrored vanity appeared. Yellow, with only her very long neck and head stretching into the room, the two-act orderly, and when she leaves, they start laughing. Steven starts to cough up Rose's hair as the dream fades to black void with violet floors in which Pink Pearl is pulled away from him. The bubble pops as dream doorway opens to White Diamond's ship, where White Diamond is watching him while smiling, and he then throws up Rose's hair, causing him to wake up. In the morning, the Gems and Connie are in Pink Diamond's room with him, while the Pebbles are making furniture all night so it resembles Steven's house back on Earth. Steven then goes with Pearl to Blue and Yellow Diamond in the throne room for his meeting about White and asks to plan a ball to bring Homeworld together, and possibly get White Diamond to attend and to get help to heal the corrupted Gems. Blue and Yellow Diamond agree to this plan to talk to White to heal all the corrupted Gems and then give Steven their Pearls to start planning out the ball.

Exploring locales such as city streets, bus stops, parking lots, bars, retail establishments, and discussion groups, Together Alone ventures into what is often thought of as the realm of passing strangers to examine the nature of personal relationships conducted in public spaces. While most studies of social interaction have gone behind closed doors to focus on relationships in the family, school, and workplace, this innovative collection pushes the boundaries of the field by analyzing both fleeting and anchored relationships in the seldom-studied communal areas where much of contemporary life takes place. The contributors shed light on the diversity and character of day-to-day negotiations in public spaces and at the same time illuminate how these social ties paradoxically blend aspects of durability and brevity, of emotional closeness and distance, of being together and alone.

At her tent, Claire is about to do the weekly injection to Aaron, but Desmond interrupts, saying that she is wasting her time. He says that he shot himself with that every 9 days for 3 years. They then talk about Aaron's dad, who left Claire and the baby alone.

That night, the group has made camp. Sawyer offers a DHARMA NutriBar to Hurley, who refuses, stating that he is not hungry. Michael seems to be deeply troubled by what happened earlier with the gun. Jack sneaks up on him, and asks him if he is all right. Jack then helps him getting firewood. Michael thanks him for risking his life for his boy. Jack replies, "Live together, die alone, man."

Later that night, Locke asks Desmond what did one snowman say to the other snowman, referring to the question Desmond asked him when they first met. Desmond replies, "Smells like carrots." Locke tells Desmond about the revelations from the Pearl Orientation video, that what happens in the Swan is a test, a psychological experiment. Desmond does not believe him, but Locke gives him the Pearl video. Desmond is curious and together they decide not to push the button the next day.

THE FIVE SOLAS: Standing Together, Alone (THE ENGLISH VERSION)John SamsonR.C. Sproul recently wrote the author the following words: "YOU HAVE SUCCINCTLY AND CLEARLY DISTILLED THE ESSENCE OF THE 'SOLAS.' MAY GOD MIGHTILY USE YOUR BOOK FOR HIS GLORY. THANK YOU FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT IN THE GOSPEL YOU HAVE BROUGHT ME.""Some authors make you read three chapters before getting to the first point in their outline. If you wish to understand the foundation of the solas of the Reformation but would like to do so in under an hour, John Samson provides you with the basics right here." - Dr. James White, Alpha & Omega Ministries, Phoenix, Arizona"Recent years have seen a number of key anniversaries connected with events and people who were vital catalysts in the Protestant Reformation. Thankfully this has resulted in a renewed focus on the 'five solas' - a convenient shorthand list of the Reformers' key convictions. Throughout church history, wherever these principles have been stressed and adhered to, the church has always flourished. So it is a highly encouraging trend. I'm thankful for this excellent booklet by John Samson; a cogent, focused, and accessible study of the solas that not only reminds us what these principles mean, but also shows us why they are important - and why they must stand together." - Phil Johnson, Executive Director, Grace to You"This is such a crucial topic; and having read many pieces written on the five solas, this one stands out for not only being theologically sound, but also clear and concise. It is written in a way that just about anyone could pick up and understand. I am thankful that God has raised up his servant John Samson for this deeply needed work; a work we ought to get into the hands of as many people as possible." - John Hendryx, monergism.comJohn Samson begins this vitally important work with the following few paragraphs. These are provided to whet your apetite for more -"Light dispels darkness. When the light of God's Word shines into places of spiritual and cultural darkness, it transforms people, families and nations. It does not matter how long the darkness has persisted; when light appears, darkness, like a hostile, renegade, usurper to the throne, must submit, bow its head, and walk away in shame. Again, light dispels darkness. The entrance of God's word brings light!Darkness is the shared experience of a people without light. Such was the case before the Protestant Reformation. The Bible was not known. In its place, religious superstition, tradition and falsehood reigned. The Reformation brought God's word and the Gospel back into the hands of the masses.Man-made traditions that had kept the people in bondage for centuries were now exposed for what they really were. Entire nations, held captive by the powers of darkness, were now exposed to the truth. Dramatic change occurred. Outside the book of Acts in the New Testament, there has not been a greater move of the Holy Spirit in the history of the church. Our world would never be the same. A Latin phrase, 'Post tenebras lux' captured the enfolding, historical drama, meaning, 'After darkness, light!'As the Bible came to be read in the common language of the people, the great central truths the Bible proclaimed were recovered, often at great cost to those who came to embrace them. The Reformation recovered and highlighted glorious Scriptural truths which have been expressed in five memorable phrases, now known as the Five Solas. Properly understood, these Five Solas bring us back to the very heart of the Gospel of Jesus Christ."THIS IS NOW THE FOURTH VOLUME IN OUR REFORMATION 500 SERIESTHE OTHER THREE TITLES ARE -REMEMBERING LUTHER'S FIGHT by Kurt SmithTHE THEOLOGY OF THE REFORMATION by B. With VR, the focus is about creating an environment where the user is present, with added technology, which is why so many tech companies are on board with the concept. While VR has been defined as a form of telepresence within a real or simulated environment, blocking out the world with a headset fosters solitude rather than society. The communal gathering of a group to engage in a game is removed, as players participate alone and are inherently isolated.
